It is intended to help you to reflect on your own experience of stress and pressure, and to find ways of improving your wellbeing in both your work and home life.

This is not a clinical tool and if you have any symptoms or concerns about your physical or mental health, you should always consult with your G.P.

This exercise is designed to help you to look at the balance between a wide range of areas in your life. By improving this balance, you can improve your wellbeing.

This is an opportunity for you to reflect on the state of your wellbeing and identify areas of your life you would like to change.

There are six sections on a whole range of topics. Don't worry! They should only take a few minutes each. We’ll also provide useful information and ideas as you complete the exercise.

The work-life balance tool

Start the work-life balance toolThe Work-Life balance tool is designed to give you an assessment of you work demands and workload and how this relates to your personality, work style and work-life balance.

This is not a psychometric assessment, but is designed to help you to identify issues and reflect on your own work circumstances.

There are three sections to the tool, combining to give you an overall picture of your work-life balance.

In itself, high workload is not necessarily an indication of negative stress or poor wellbeing. Job motivation and job fit are also important. Try our tool to see how your work and life balances at the moment, and get tips on how to keep this relationship and balance under control.

PocketSmith

PocketSmith is an easy-to-use, calendar-based financial planning tool that helps you keep your balance in the black.

When you use the PocketSmith website, you will be able to enter your regular expenses and your income. The software will allow you to:

  • chart all of your debt repayments
  • match actual spending against forecasts
  • work independently or invite of our debt specialists for confidential assistance

As this service is funded through the generosity of our donors, it won’t cost you a penny. It is also used by our dept specialists as part of their toolkit.

You can visit the Pocketsmith website from the homepage of the Advice Centre and use the program 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The support from our debt specialists is available 8am-8pm Monday to Friday.
